“Flamenco is the means through which man reaches God
without the intervention of saints or angels.”
Luis Antonio de Vega
It's very late, and your last night in town. You have indulged in tapas and sangria at a seaside bar in Spain. Sand is between your toes. The stone streets are still warm as you begin your ascent toward your room and sleep. Other than waves the village is quiet. Your key is in the door, but a faint rhythmic clapping and guitar inexplicably beckons you to the plaza. A lamp is still on at the back door of a closed bar. No one notices you, except a boy dressed in a suit, up well past his bedtime. "You are looking for your hotel?" he asks, you smile..."no... Flamenco”!
Join us for a very special intimate evening as René Heredia and his Flamenco Fantasy Dance Theatre heat up your senses with authentic gypsy flamenco music and dance while you enjoy a traditional Spanish meal of tapas and sangria.
You will be magically transported to the caves of Sacromonte in Spain as you watch the traditional gypsy dancers with their light, graceful arm movements, syncopated hand-clapping and rhythmic, pounding footwork — all while listening to the intricate strumming of a flamenco master.
Comprised of Denver’s best dancers and award-winning guitarist, Artistic Director, and “Godfather of Flamenco” Maestro René Heredia, their performances convey the mystery, emotion and soul of authentic gypsy flamenco.
Be prepared for an evening of passion, power, music and dance! Olé!
Maestro René Heredia is from Granada, Spain and is a direct descendant of the gitano flamenco puro tradition as passed down to him by generations of his gypsy family. He has performed with the greatest flamenco artists of his time including Carlos Montoya, Carmen Amaya, Sabicas, José Greco, Paco de Lucia, and many others.
As a performer, teacher, choreographer, mentor, and recording artist, Maestro Heredia is credited with bringing flamenco to Colorado and has received numerous awards, including the Governor’s and Mayor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts. Learn more at http://reneheredia.com/
